I do LOVE the song “MY SUNSHINE” alot.. I used it complety during this video. I love it alot.. the only bug is the lyric twist “boku no ~ and.. ~kimi ~” don’t really fit well with P and a fan’s pov but just pretend the lyrics were the other way around ne ^_^ still not perfect fitting lyrics but …lovely ^.^

I also had a time when I rebelled against my mother. I didn’t want to see her face and went to a friend’s house to stay there. When I think about that now, I wonder whatever was up with me then, but back then I didn’t understand anything. Well, in my case my friends arranged for me to go home again and as a result I realized how much my mother means to me. This is why I understand to the point of being painful the feelings of the character Yôsuke-kun [AN: This is the name of his character in the dorama special "Budô no ki - satooya to kodomotachi no ai no monogatari", "Tree of grapes - a story about the love between foster parents and their children"]. When I read the script, I cried. Even when you don’t share the same blood, when your names are different, emotionally it still is a true bond between parent and child. There’s a scene when Yôsuke is rehabilitating and goes to buy his parents a splendid souvenir, and they tell him “You don’t need to do this.” At that, Yôsuke replies “I’m doing it because I want to.” This kind of verbal exchange was very deep.

There happened a lot of things in Yôsuke’s life and he was tossed about by fate, but maybe… I think he had a very rich life. He came to appreciate other people and he was overflowing with love, I think, he was happy. I learned about the foster parents system for the first time. I’ll be very happy if I managed to make you all understand about it a little bit better. It would be even better if by watching the dorama you would come to appreciate your parents and the feelings of other people. More than by blood, people are connected by their feelings. Me too, I have friends that I connect with on a deeper level, like telepathy, like siblings they understand everything. I often think how strange and wonderful this is. I want you to think about the feeling of love… this is the kind of dorama it is.

Tegoshi: Maybe Yaminabe*. Everyone bringing various ingredients. What kind of ingredients will the girl I like bring, doki doki♥. Using eye contact to transmit messages when eating the nabe, creating a dangerous atmosphere.
[*note: direct trans for yaminabe is dark hot pot? Everyone will bring various kinds of ingredients in the dark. And they will eat it under the circumstances where they don’t even know what are the ingredients placed inside it.]

Yamashita: Dangerous (laughs). Compared to home party, I am the outdoors party type.

Tegoshi: Wai…wait Yamashita-kun? You went out of the topic for a while there.

Tegoshi: Don’t educate me~. I’ll pretend to make her feel that I did not prepare any present at all, and then I’ll get the chef to bring out the cake and flower.

Yamashita: I also want to give her a surprise

Masuda: Although I like it that way too, I do not have confidence. The present too, I will be afraid that she will not like it, so I’ll buy a few more.

Q The present you receive from your girlfriend which will make you happy is?

Yamashita: Sneakers would be good ne. Things which can be worn on my body, and the price which is not expensive, isn’t it good?

Masuda: Sneakers, it’s nice ne~

Tegoshi: If it’s from the girl I like, then I hope it’s love♥ For objects, anything is fine but I’ll be very happy if it’s handmade~

Yamashita: The type who is happy to receive hand knitted things?

Tegoshi: I’m the scarf/muffler type ne

Masuda: At least I hope I can choose the color myself. No, as expected, just being able to receive it will make me happy. The most important thing is the thought that counts ne.

Yamashita: That’s right ne. Even if I receive candies which I always eat, I’ll be happy too. It proves that she knows what type of candy I like.

Q Do men have victory clothes too? [note: “shoubufuku”, clothes which are set aside for important dates, like Christmas etc]

Masuda: Although clothes which are convenient for activities is not bad, I want to dress up a little more smartly on the day ne.

Tegoshi: For me, if the opposite party is an important person, I want to present my normal self without any cover up to her.

Yamashita: I will dress myself up smartly~ If we’re going to a nice restaurant, I’ll put on a jacket-like formal coat

Tegoshi: My way of thinking is overthrown once again

Masuda: Tegoshi you’ll be seen as a “cheap” man (laughs)

Q When the present does not suits the girl’s preference, when it is not what she wanted, do you want her to say it out directly?

Masuda: I want her to say it. At the moment when she opens the present and saying it out clearly, “What is this~” (laughs). Towards this plain way of saying, I have no power to resist.

Yamashita: I wish she does not say it at all. If that kind of thing is being said to me, my tension will go down and I’ll be low-spirited for the whole day.

Masuda & Tegoshi: Ho~

Yamashita: I’ll get hurt. It’s a present which I did my best to prepare, and with care yo~

Masuda: If she said it seriously, indeed you’ll get hurt ne.

Tegoshi: I’ll get hurt too.

Masuda: But, doesn’t this mean not to listen to my girlfriend’s real feelings?

Tegoshi: A~, but lying is convenient! Then, I hope at that point of time she’ll say a tiny lie.

Yamashita: Today’s Tegoshi is wild (laughs)

Q: Xmas, due to work you are unable to meet your girlfriend, what kind of compensation will you give?

Tegoshi: Send her a present on the day of Christmas

Yamashita: I think that is not bad!

Tegoshi: Yamashita-kun is a realist~

Yamashita: If she wears a Yukata, maybe I may feel like going there wearing one too. But full, formal clothing like Kimono, because by dressing up till being too overly formal, I will feel embarrassed, so I still need a little mental preparation
[note: Kimono(formal dress) is worn for formal ceremonies while Yukata are those where the girls will wear for summer festivals etc]

Q Weak against what kind of character, what type of girls?
Masuda: I like a girl who runs fast. Because I like sports.

Yamashita: I’m the opposite, weak girls would be better. I like a girl who gives the feeling of one being from a humble family. It gives me the feeling of wanting to protect her. So Tegoshi-sensei, I’ll leave the last rounding up to you.   [note: as in ending the conversation]

Tegoshi: Me? The period ever since elementary school to high school, I have always wanted to try and date the girl who is chased after by many boys ne. The feeling like “Everyone’s idol has been snatched away by me”.

Yamashita: Hee~!

Tegoshi: But not the very good at studies type. A natural type would be better ne.

Masuda: You’re greedy na (laughs)

Tegoshi: If she’s a prodigy, it feels like she will constantly think about the problems on Pi.  [note: Pi = π (3.1415926..)]

Yamapi talks about how he’s shy around new people, Koyama and Ryo’s karaoke quirks and how fun filming ProDai SP was.

YAMASHITA TOMOHISA

●　The ______ part of yourself There are a times people call me things like “cool” but it’s not really… well, I’m just not a cool person at all. I’m really shy around strangers which might be why people think that when they first meet me. First of all, when I first meet someone I don’t really talk. If I’m some place for work and they ask me questions I’ll answer but I won’t just chat with people from the start. But if we go out for something, like karaoke, then I try my best. I’m requested to sing “weeeek”, “Seishun Amigo” and “Daite Senorita” a lot. Once the intros to these has played I’m all set (lol). I’ll even attach a message inbetween the intro like “OK, everyone get ready for Daite Senorita! Please sing along!” (lol). I mean, if they don’t sing along here it ruins the atmosphere you know? The type of person I am based on my prefecture? Well my hometown is in Chiba Prefecture and I’m the type who thinks about other peoples feelings but keeps his own kept inside his own thoughts. And then that’ll save up until one day when I snap and get mad (lol). There are a lot of NEWS members who live in Kanagawa. Koyama, Shige and Tegoshi. The personality of people from Kanagawa is something like they’ve got a lot of feelings for helping others. This phrase “differences based on prefecture” is really useful because it can be used for anything (lol).

●　A surprising side of Koyama Keiichiro If we go karaoke together, I’ll sing “Daite Senorita” right. The things he yells when I do sounds like a host (lol). After ♪Kenka no kizu wo nagame anata wa iu♪ he’ll be like “Soresoresoresore!” and stuff (lol). I’m really thankful he gets into it but I’m a little curious about why he says that (lol). By the way, at karaoke Ryo-chan will say “You guys might not know this one but I’m gonna sing it” and sing some really obscure song only an enthusiast of the band would know.

●　Speaking of spring, it’s a season of parting and new meetings. Have you had this kind of parting or meeting recently? I had a meeting, or more like a reunion, for the “Proposal Daisakusen Special”. Its really like we’re childhood friends and it feels great being on set. Also since the final filming was in Hawaii it was really the greatest. I was there for five nights though it’s really too bad I never had a day off. I didn’t even get to surf for more than about a half hour. Though we had quite a bit of free time at night so I’d go and relax while looking at the ocean at night. That was really pretty. I thought “On the night of a full moon, I want to go surfing in the moonlight!”.

●　A recommended point about “Taiyou no Namida” As it’s the theme song for “Kurosagi the Movie” I feel like it represents the emotions of Kurosaki. When I saw the movie and this song played at the end I though “Ah, I get it”. I think its a song with a bit of loneliness in it and with a lot of atmosphere to it. —————————————————————————————————————

Translation Notes * Sore sore sore is a kind of nonsense Japanese chant. Heard a lot in traditional songs or folk songs. I think Yamapi says Koyama sounds like a host because he’s getting everyone into it and excited.

Smile Maker

After listening to it myself, I became more energetic! It’s a song that gives everyone courage when in pain, or when encountering problems. I feel that being able to have such a song is really wonderful!

All in all, it is a energetic, wonderful album with weeek as the start. When you first play it, you will get high in no time! weeek, STARDUST, SUMMER TIME etc, the first to the third song are song that make people high! Please listen to it!

This is my solo song, which doesn’t differ much from the demo I did previously. Arranged the song with the one who played guitar for STARDUST. Lyricist, composer, arranger, are all Nishikido Ryo. It is a song that I really like, so please listen to it!

Minna ga Iru Sekai wo Hitotsu ni Ai wo Motto Give & Take Shimashou

I am the lead vocal for this song which has a long title, but the song is quite intense. Although it is an intense song, it is also a rather warm song that is filled with love. If everyone is able to listen to this song, I would be very happy.

SNOW EXPRESS

This song has been performed many times in concerts. It is a song written for us by Yamashita Tatsuro-san. A great song. It is also a song that I really like!!

STARDUST

Naming it STARDUST, it is a pretty intense song. There is also some sorrow in it. STARDUST… is really STARDUST! (laughs)

Murarisuto

It is the sequel to Chirarizumu found in the previous album… we gave it a try! It is worse than before (!?), I really think so (laughs). But such an idiotic song allows people to relax a little, which is not bad!? The song after it is Taiyou no Namida, people can enjoy the contrast in genres. Somewhere in the song, the previous song title, Chirarizumu, is mentioned. This is also a reason to listen!!

Forever

I really like the starting of this song! With guitar as its opening primarily, for the singing part, I sang it as I like freely. It also portrays the uniqueness of each member’s voice. Please take note of that when listening!

Kesenai

It is of the same style as Ai Nante which is a soothing song with symphony orchestra accompaniment. But as for Kesenai… it is a HIP HOP soothing song. Till now, we have never sang such a strange soothing song. It belongs to a category which doesn’t exist in my mind, but it is a wonderful song!

Forever

It is a song of love, with straightforward lyrics, a song that speaks directly to the heart. I like songs that describe the sweetness of a guy’s feelings towards the girl he treasures.

MOLA

This is quite a dance song, and the lyrics are all in English. When recording, someone who was fluent in English came and correct my pronouciation. After all, the most commonly used language in the world is English, if more people are able to listen to the song, I would be very happy! I completed the song with such feelings.

Yamapi is different than he was a long time ago because…

●　He’s come to be able to talk to me a lot. On the way home from uni he’ll invite me somewhere like, “Let’s go to the movies!” and I feel like “Yamapi, that makes me so happy ♥” (Koyama)
●　He’s become like a leader, and reliable (Uchi)
●　His face. In the past it was childlike but it’s become adult-like. His personality has become more mature also, but he’s more friendly (Nishikido) [more friendly? Oo sounds like he's an animal waiting to be tamed ~~ oh Ryo-chan...]
●　In the past I had a cool impression of him but now I don’t have that impression at all. When he gets hyper he starts saying gags I can’t understand at all (Kato).
●　I’ve noticed he’ll say puns without any warning (Tegoshi)

His weak point

●　90 minute classes at college. Those classes are long to him because he’s used to high school classes, and he has to fight with sleepiness (Koyama) [haha..*imagining Pi sleeping in class XD~ priceless...]
●　The cold. When he gets cold he immediately has goosebumps (Uchi)
●　Ghosts. In the past we were telling ghost stories late at night and he said to me “I have to go to the bathroom. Come with me” (Nishikido)
●　Kanji. I feel like I’ve seen him write the kanji for “難” with one extra line (Kato) [lol, thanks sensei shige :p]
●　His cellphone. I think if he lost it there would be a rainstorm of tears.
●　The cold. Because he has no fat (Masuda)
●　None. He’s Mr. Perfect (Tegoshi) [we know ^__~ ne..]

♣ “Aiueore ni…” or “Kakikukekono XX ga sa…”…. both these gags are starting with a line of the Japanese hiragana alphabet and then creating sentences from that. Imagine something like “ABCDEFG I want a snack…” or something like that.
♣ The “難” kanji is the kanji for “difficult”/”hard”
♣ Ryo concludes Yamapi’s scared of ghosts because after telling ghost stories Yamapi didn’t want to go to the bathroom alone.
♣ Tegoshi says Mr Perfect in “English” (katakana)
♣ Yamapi says good bye in English slang, while Shige gives your traditional goodbye greeting for workmates (otsukaresama deshita).
